The Gambia

The deployment of SORMAS in The Gambia started in 2025, under the leadership of the Epidemiology and Disease Control (EDC) Unit of the Ministry of Health, which oversees integrated disease surveillance and response (IDSR), event‑based surveillance, and coordination of emergency operations for outbreaks and public health threats.

The implementation began with the training of trainers and users supported by international partners.
