New Partnership: SORMAS Foundation and Weather Foundation
Climate change is reshaping the landscape of infectious diseases. Rising temperatures, shifting rainfall patterns, and extreme weather events are expanding the habitats of disease-carrying vectors like mosquitoes and ticks, contaminating water sources, and increasing the frequency and severity of outbreaks such as malaria, dengue, and cholera, placing growing strain on public health systems worldwide.
To address these challenges, the SORMAS Foundation and the Weather Foundation are joining forces. By combining expertise across health and climate, we aim to support more resilient, data-driven health systems through innovative and impactful solutions.
Our collaboration will focus on:
▫️ Understanding the impacts of weather and climate on health
▫️ Strengthening surveillance and outbreak response for climate-sensitive diseases
▫️ Improving early warning capabilities of health systems
We look forward to working together!
