SORMAS deployment in Luxembourg highlighted by the Open Source Observatory of the European Commission
The Open Source Observatory (OSOR) of the European Commission has published an article highlighting the deployment of SORMAS in Luxembourg as part of the Public Health Rapid Epidemiological Surveillance Hub (PHRESH) project, implemented by the Health Directorate (Direction de la Santé).
The article describes the ongoing collaboration between the Health Directorate and the SORMAS Foundation to adapt the SORMAS platform to Luxembourg’s national public health requirements. This collaboration represents a significant step toward modernizing disease surveillance and strengthening outbreak management capabilities across the country.
Planned enhancements to the system include the development of a new dashboard infrastructure to facilitate information sharing with internal teams, government ministries, public agencies, and the general public. In addition, integration with the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) is underway to support improved cross-border coordination and data exchange.
These developments are fully aligned with the Interoperable Europe initiative and the objectives of the Interoperable Europe Act, contributing to greater interoperability and collaboration among EU Member States.
